A recent experience at the Transfer Station

Today I started campaigning by going to the transfer station to meet people, share information and expand my new political career. Let me tell you, I am afraid!

In my life experience I have been naive and thought everyone loves children, dogs and women’s sports. Only to find out that they don’t. Well it happened again! Many people are not interested in politics, don’t like politics and don’t agree with my politics.

Three young women (with children) told me they never vote, the system doesn’t work and they really didn’t want any information. A man looked at my information and said, “I don’t vote for Democrats!” An older lady (with a cross hanging on a chain) looked at me wide eyed and raised her voice and said “I’m for life“. Since we had not exchanged any words I was kind of quiet and she said, ”so you believe in killing babies“. I responded that I believe in choice. She then proceeded to talk loudly about heartbeats (the information she was stating is inaccurate). No conversation was happening there.

Out of the hour and a half I was there some people said thank you but the majority really had no interest in any election.

I’m not going to give up on finding my votes. I will continue and I’m still excited to represent our district but it’s not going to be easy.

“I think I can, I think I can!”
